Hello, I am Leanne a registered nurse starting in the NHS in 2005 with much of that time spent working in high level clinical and leadership roles. I started as a registered nurse on a medical ward from which I gained a solid foundation of knowledge which I transferred to a role as a community staff nurse. From here the NHS trust seconded and supported my training as a district nursing sister/specialist practitioner at Teesside University leading a team of 11 staff. From this position I moved into rolling out a brand-new NHS service from scratch after securing funding from the government for a pilot scheme which after much success was replicated over the whole city of Sunderland. In this position I was awarded Clinical Skills at Sunderland University. Next I worked as a community Matron for 6 years in which I was awarded independent nurse prescriber qualification. I then moved in a GP surgery setting as a Nurse Practitioner and finally into occupational health where I have transferred my clinical NHS career and developed further skills with Amplivox occupational audiometry and spirometry training. Completing and passing Faculty of Occupational Medicine course examinations – DipOHPrac. Where I have spent the last several years developing working with a local authority council and several private occupational health providers. It is my intention to bring to you a clinically led, personable service that provides efficient support and guidance delivered in a practical way to you or your business with EMPATH.
